SwissText is a one-day conference on automatic text analytics, which takes place June 9, 2016 in Winterthur. We invite practitioners, end users, software vendors, researchers and data scientists to join SwissText and share their expertise and experience with the audience.

SwissText brings together practitioners and researchers, to give an overview of existing solutions and technologies, and to come up with ideas for new and innovative projects using automatic text understanding. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- Evaluation of Social Media
- Semantic Analysis
- Chatbots
- Deep Learning for Text Analysis
- Machine Translation
- Text Classification
- Text Generation

The first edition of the conference was held in 2016 with more than 170 participants and a distinguished lineup of speakers from international IT giants such as Google and IBM, Swiss companies (e.g. SwissCom), startups, and several universities. There has been tremendous progress in automatic text understanding in the last 3-5 years. New technologies have been established (e.g. word embeddings), breakthroughs were achieved using deep learning, and new products and services were introduced.

Presentation Types
The conference will see the following types of presentations:

Survey:
Distinguished experts are invited to present an overview of state-of-the-art technologies and solutions in one sub-field of text analytics. Surveys will not dive deep into single technologies, but rather give an overview of the entire sub-field, and describe current trends and solutions from “a bird eyes view”.

Technical Papers:
For the technical track, we are looking for new and innovative results in all aspects of automatic text analysis. These results should be presented in technical depths, for an audience with profound skills in programming and data science. It is allowed to submit papers that were already presented at other conferences.

Showcases:
Many companies are using text analytics in their daily work, and various innovative products and services are already available. Showcase presentations will describe the most interesting and successful projects and applications, and present lessons-learned and best-practices. Technical details should be avoided in these presentations, since typical audience will be project managers and decision makers.

Product/Tool Demonstration:
There exists an exciting variety of tools and products for automatic text analytics. We invite innovative solutions for a short demo.

- Surveys and demonstrations will be oral presentations; technical papers and showcases will be presented orally or as posters, as determined by the program committee. All presentations are in English, and will be listed in the conference program booklet.

Submission
Submissions should contain a short abstract that describes the outline of the intended presentation and the target audience (max 1000 characters).
