Final Call for Papers 15 March 2017

Topical Scope

The Conference Theme is: "Moving Africa forward through Engineering, Technology and Innovation". The conference seeks to bring together academics, researchers and industrialists across many disciplines, in particular those that have the most impact in Africa's Development. Most conferences on the continent have covered limited disciplines and therefore the opportunity has been lost sharing information, results and knowledge in a way which can solve the many contentious issues, most of which can be solved through a multidisciplinary approach. The Call for Papers will invite papers from areas of Electronics, Communications and Computer Systems, Energy and Power Systems, Multi-discipline approach to the solution of problems and application of innovation in industrial Production, Mining, Transportation, Engineering Education and participation of youth and women in Engineering and Technology. The conference aims to bring together researchers in academia and industry, students pursuing undergraduate and graduate studies. Specifically invited to the conference are industrialists engineers who spent much of their time tackling problems related to industrial production, problems related complex operations in agriculture, mining, railway transport, and aviation, heavy industry manufacture and process industries. Invited too are those who are involved with small to medium scale industries related fabrication of equipment or devices for consumer or industrial electronics. Energy efficiency is has become an imperative in the light of severe energy shortages in most parts of Africa and the conference invites experts who have would like to demonstrate devices and systems that present real and effective solutions that achieve genuine energy savings to offset huge capital outlays in generation and transmission systems. Africa currently faces serious flight of skills "brain drain" and possible answers to this problem could be investment in capacity building and teaching models that utilise modern communications technologies and that link "north" and "south". The conference particularly values the contributions of women in engineering and young people in Universities and Research Institutes.
