This marcus evans event will give banks insight into what their peers are doing, in addition to guidance from regulators, with a view to completing their projects, and for those more advanced firms, offer guidance on how to derive the maximum value from their projects beyond full compliance. Furthermore it will also take a deep dive into some of the more challenging areas for banks: taxonomy, reconciliation and consistency and data lineage. The BCBS 239 risk data reforms, whilst originally scheduled to be completed by G-SIBs at the start of 2016, have rumbled on, and are still a live issue for many banks. The original deadline was soon redefined as a mere milestone for G-SIBs, and most D-SIBs have now also been tasked with compliance, in addition to banks under the jurisdiction of the Fed. As of March 2017, the ECB identified only 1 bank as being fully compliant, and whilst 3 out of 4 banks expect to have their projects completed for the end of 2018, there is still a lack of official feedback from regulators, making it hard to know exactly how much still needs to be done.
