The 3rd. International Social Development Conference 2018 (ISDC2018) is an international platform for scholars, researchers, policy makers, practitioners, students, and concerned citizens to share knowledge, ideas, experiences and research outcomes in the area of human and social development. The ISDC2018 secretariat cordially invites authors of various background to participate in this conference as paper presenters. Authors who wish to publish their paper must ensure that the respective papers are original and have not been submitted for publication, or published elsewhere. The scope of the paper may range from conceptual or theoretical- to research-based, although authors are reminded to follow established conventions in producing their papers to ensure quality, such as avoiding plagiarism and observing a particular writing or referencing style (APA, MLA, etc.). In addition, a technical committee shall evaluate each paper for suitability with the conference theme and sub-themes, as well as for publication. Those who do not wish to present papers are also welcomed to join the conference as participants. Different fee structures are applicable for different type of publications (refer to the Fee section for more information). As reflected in the main theme, the conference pulls together three pertinent issues surrounding contemporary social develoment scenario: a) the overwhelming context of industry 4.0 upon societal well-being, b) the role of change agents such as professionals working within the helping profession, and c) the sustainability of the development agenda itself, given the challenges that the change agents have to deal with in that context. As such there are many sub themes or discussion tracks that can readily be identified that fall under this broad theme. Listed below are some of the sub themes that are relevant to be discussed but they are by no means exhaustive. Social work Counselling Correctional & criminology Education & leadership Communication Spirituality & religiousity Policy & social legislation Social justice Family well-being Poverty Community development Health & mental health Disaster management & humanitarian aid Women empowerment Empowerment of the disabled Human capital & social entrepreneurship Patriotism & volunteerism Child & adolescent development Psychosocial impact of industrial development
