You will experience one of the best displays of alpine wildflowers found anywhere in the Pacific Northwest as we meander around the easy hiking trails of Bird Creek Meadows near the base of the Mt Adams Wilderness in Southwestern Washington State. You’ll also get your chance at shooting freezing action and implying motion of the very popular international sport of windsurfing and kite-surfing on the Columbia River near Hood River, Oregon. We’ll also photograph the rolling fields of wheat as far as the eye can see, against the backdrop of Mt Hood and even visit a ghost town, all under the watchful eye of deep blue skies and the ever present white puffy clouds. And for sure, one evening, we’ll stick around for that large and magnificent yellow/orange full moon rising over the rolling fields of wheat and the proverbial lone farmhouse. Bring LOTS of memory cards!
Meet & greet Thursday evening, August 3rd at 7:00 PM in the United Airlines baggage claim area of the Portland International Airport. Workshop ends Monday night, around 9pm. We will then return to the area around the Portland International Airport so you will want to book your room for Sunday evening near the Portland airport.
As far as the hotels needed during the workshop; I will have already
booked everyone’s rooms for the first two nights of lodging, ( single
rooms for Thursday and Friday evenings) but rooms for Saturday night
will be determined by our intended location since the weather will
dictate where we head Saturday and Sunday. You will pay for your single
room at each location upon check-in to the respective hotels.
All ground transportation is provided during the workshop and is
included in the cost.
