Description:

What is the cost of a bad hire? Reduced productivity, decreased morale, management frustrations and a loss of customers are just a few of the negative outcomes to hiring the wrong candidate. The interview is our most important selection tool yet unstructured interviewing has only a 10% success rate of predicting on-the-job behavior – apparently we aren’t as good at judging behavior as we think. Fortunately we can improve this predictability with behaviorally based interviewing.

Based on research conducted by the presenter for her thesis in her graduate studies, this webinar will discuss several different types of interviewing techniques and how effective they are (or are not!) in predicting future job performance.

You will also learn how to:

  • Understand the behavior-based interview process
  • Identify who should be part of the process
  • Prepare behavior-based questions
  • Ask behavior-based questions
  • Ask spin-off questions
  • Take effective interview notes
  • Avoid interview traps
  • Wrapping up the interview
Target Audience:
