Heidi K. Roeber, MD, MPH, medical director, Honeywell Aerospace

As a member of the Health, Safety and Environment team, Heidi is the medical director for Honeywell Aerospace. She holds a BS from the University of North Dakota where she also earned her MD. Dr. Heidi completed her residency training in occupational medicine and received her MPH in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of Minnesota before her Fellowship in clinical preventive medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Prior to joining Honeywell, she was the department chair of occupational health at Banner Medical Group and has been active in medical education.

As a Peace Corps volunteer in Lesotho, Heidi first had the opportunity to live and work in Africa as a high school math and science teacher, knowing that one day she would return. Upon completion of her public health training, she moved her family to Kigali where she was a physician research fellow for the Rwanda Zambia HIV Research Group. With the Ebola crisis in West Africa exploding in 2014, she took a leave of absence to spend four months establishing, training staff and caring for patients in a Liberian Ebola Treatment Unit in partnership with AmeriCares. During this deployment, she was invited by the World Health Organization to consult as the National Health and Safety Coordinator in Freetown, Sierra Leone. She will share her experiences with environmental and occupational health in the context of humanitarian relief.
