The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute Student Leadership Council (EERI SLC) is hosting its 14th Annual Undergraduate Seismic Design Competition in Portland, Oregon!

Our Stanford team, composed of enthusiastic and motivated undergraduate students and great graduate student mentors, is ready to take on the challenge against 34 other schools from all over the world! The team's structure, named the Arcs. V, is a state of the art balsa wood building designed using topology optimization to develop a fabulous bracing system to resists all the ground motions from the competition. If you want to see the exciting part of the competition (the shaking!), it will be live-streamed on Thursday,
March 9th @ www.facebook.com/eeri.slc
Stanford is set to go between 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m., so stay tuned!
