The OLC Advanced Online Teaching Certificate Program is designed to help educators fine-tune existing online courses and degree programs in order to have a positive impact on student learning. After successful completion of this program the participant will:
Investigate and adopt an instructional design model which most closely aligns with their personal instructional style, course content, and level of “freedom” to modify course content. Investigations will include learner experience design, ADDIE, backward course design, among others.
Include more robust assessment strategies and active learning techniques in his/her online courses which will include techniques for measuring individual and group learning outcomes.
Add multimedia & social media components for student engagement and community building.
Explore and practice active learning strategies – collaborative learning, problem-based learning, and inductive learning.
Investigate, and create a personal repository of solutions to rapidly changing technology challenges.
