One of the most inspiring thing in the creative process is a chance for a mind-blowing makeover of everyday objects into amazing, unique works of art – it is real magic happening in front of us when simple, plain elements put together start to get a new life. Pieces of old tablecloth or curtain turn into robes and dresses, old lace scraps found in the attic get back their former charm and glory… there is so much beauty around us and all we need to do is just open our eyes and heads and create.
Working on the 3-dimensional project like altered doll takes a bit longer time – but it is absolutely rewarding and addictive process. Transformation which takes place in front of us makes us feel like magicians or crazy scientist building something absolutely unique, reflecting our personalities, wishes, dreams… you can turn any direction is calling you: from industrial or steampunk look through spooky and bizarre and finally sweet and romantic – set of techniques we are going to focus on will give you endless possibilities and tons of inspiration for the future.

Together we will go through the process based on art mediums from my collection which will transform your plain doll into a real mixed-media queen – we will try Sculpture Medium, Gels, Mica Powders, Art Alchemy Acrylic Paints and much more! I will share my experience, demonstrate steps, and techniques and give you the advice to make sure you will get the best effects but there will be space for experiments and a lot of fun!

All the techniques can be easily used on many other projects such as home decor and altered objects or collage. This project is suitable both for advanced and beginning students.
