Welcome to the IV International Symposium on Pomegranate and Minor Mediterranean Fruits
Dear colleagues, on behalf of the International Society of Horticultural Science (ISHS), the Valencian Institute of Agrarian Research (IVIA) is pleased to invite scientists with interest in Pomegranate and other Mediterranean fruits to this Symposium, which will be held in Elche (Alicante - Spain).
Over the last years, there have been many important advances in genetic resources, plant breeding and varietal improvement, crop management, control pests and diseases, postharvest management and processing. Pomegranate 2017 will provide a good opportunity for scientists, students, growers, and industries to present and share their latest findings and knowledge on pomegranate.
We hope the symposium will show you the traditional and new styles of pomegranate production in Spain, and promote the research exchange and international collaboration among people involved in the pomegranate industry and research worldwide.
The symposium will be hosted in the town of Elche (Alicante) which we think will be an excellent venue for this event as Alicante province has a long pomegranate trading tradition.
