Now in its 7th year, GHTC is the Flagship IEEE Conference focusing on
innovation, deployment and adaptation of Technology for Humanitarian
Goals and Sustainable Development.
GHTC invites presenters to showcase innovation and progress in
technology and methodology addressing the socio-cultural and
socio-economic needs of vulnerable and resource-constrained end-user
communities in developing and developed countries, as well as
confronting the challenges of both natural and man-made disasters.
Key focus areas that are particularly relevant include (but are not limited to):
• Poverty Alleviation
• Healthcare
• Agriculture & Food Security
• Quality Education
• Affordable & Clean Energy
• Clean Water & Sanitation
• Connectivity & Communication
• Humanitarian Challenges & Opportunities
• Disaster Mitigation, Preparedness, Response & Recovery
• Other United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
Participation is invited from the public, private, education and
research, societal and funding sectors. Researchers and policy makers,
practitioners and representatives of end-user communities all have
valuable contributions to make. Interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary
papers, and proposals for interactive sessions and panels are warmly
encouraged; such approaches have proven highly effective in the
development and application of technology for Sustainable Development
and Humanitarian goals.
Authors and Presenters must demonstrate a clear understanding of the
interrelationship of their work with socio-cultural, socio-economic,
policy and environmental factors, and clearly state preliminary, final
or expected results and impact. Proposals for Interactive Sessions
[Panels, Case Studies, and Workshops] should be designed to stimulate
dialogue, knowledge exchange and the co-design of ideas, concepts and
implementation plans by conference attendees.
Submissions are invited for Keynotes and Contributions to Plenary
Panel Sessions, Full Papers, Poster Papers, and Interactive Parallel
Sessions: Panels, Case Studies, and Workshops.
All Abstracts must be submitted on-line following the author guidelines at http://2017.ieeeghtc.org/authors.
Only accepted papers that are presented during GHTC 2017 will be submitted for publication in IEEE Xplore.
