Congratulations to Rebecca Taylor, University of Sydney, who received the Darwin C. Hall Best Paper Award in the Early Career Researcher Workshop. Twenty researchers and mentors were paired up for a day-long workshop designed to help early career researchers refine their research and presentation skills.

Volunteer Program Participation
Present a Paper | Deadline August 15, 2017 -- Abstract submission is now closed. Sorry!
Submit the following to WEAI:
Abstract of 350 words or less including a statement of the research or policy question and the contribution made by the paper; as well as method(s), model(s) and, if applicable, relevant data including time frame and geographical scope; paper title; and paper topic area (three appropriate codes from the JEL Classification System).
Paper presenter's name, professional affiliation, mailing address, phone and fax numbers, e-mail address, academic degrees held; same information for coauthors.
Paper submission and registration are both included in a single participation fee due at the time of submission. Before November 1, discounted early bird participation fee is US$355 for WEAI members, US$425 for non-members (or join now and save!), and US$200 for students.
Paper presenters will be asked to serve as a discussant for another volunteer paper in order to ensure that everyone receives comments on their research.
Cancellations: Paper submission portion of participation fee (US$75) is non-refundable if paper is accepted. Before October 15, 50% of the registration portion of fee is refundable. After October 15, the entire fee is non-refundable due to the high administrative cost of reorganizing the affected sessions and participants.
Discounts: WEAI Institutional Member affiliates are eligible for a 20% discount on registration fees (discount issued as a credit after all fees have been paid).

Sessions in all areas of economics are welcome.
Members may organize their own sessions. Participation fees are lower for all papers in organized sessions (no paper submission fee applies). WEAI members who are affiliated with a WEAI Institutional Member, and who organize a session, receive complimentary conference registration. For more information, read the Guidelines for Conference Session Organizers. For more information or to submit a session, contact sessions@weai.org.

Registration fees for the 2018 Newcastle conference are projected to be as follows (these apply to attendees NOT presenting a volunteer paper):
US$280 for members (add $45 after November 1, 2017)
US$350 for non-members (add $45 after November 1, 2017)
US$125 for students (add $45 after November 1, 2017)
