Department of Chemistry, Dibrugarh University is going to complete its 50 years in 2018. As a part of Golden Jubilee celebration, we are organizing this international conference with partial support from UGC under SAP programme. The conference aims to provide a common platform for scientists and researchers across the globe to share their expertise and findings in various areas of chemical sciences. The scope of the conference covers the recent developments in the following areas of research: Focus Area Organic Chemistry Inorganic Chemistry Physical Chemistry Catalysis Organometallic Chemistry Materials Science Nanotechnology Polymer Science Natural Products Research Green Chemistry Medicinal Chemistry Theoretical and Computational Chemistry Biochemistry and Biophysics Biotechnology Petrochemistry Industrial Chemistry Analytical Chemistry About the University and Chemistry Department Dibrugarh University, the eastern most university in the country, was established in 1965 and plays a vital role in the higher education and research of the north-eastern part of the country. The research works of several of its postgraduate departments have been recognized nationally under SAP-DRS and DST-FIST schemes. It has earned reputations for opening up many frontier and job oriented courses in all branches of social and physical sciences. The Department of Chemistry was established in 1968. Since its inception, it has been offering M.Sc., M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes.The faculty members have been undertaking research projects sponsored by various national agencies such as UGC, DST, DBT, CSIR, ISRO, GBPIHED etc. The department has received financial assistance from the DST under DST-FIST-I and from UGC under SAP-DRS-I.
