The International Conference on Information Processing in Sensor Networks (IPSN) is a leading annual forum on research in networked sensing and control, broadly defined. IPSN brings together researchers from academia, industry, and government to present and discuss recent advances in both theoretical and experimental research. Its scope includes signal and image processing, information and coding theory, databases and information management, distributed algorithms, networks and protocols, wireless communications, collaborative objects and the Internet of Things, machine learning, mobile and social sensing, and embedded systems design. Of special interest are contributions at the confluence of multiple of these areas.
New: In addition to IPSN's traditional focus areas, IPSN 2018 will also include two tracks:
Internet of Things (IoT)
Data and Machine Learning
The IoT track will focus on issues related to IoT. Submission should refer to specific IoT related issues in the topic areas listed below, including but not limited to, hardware, software, system design, new architectures, modeling, evaluation, design methods, implementations, tools, or deployment experiences.
The DML Track will focus on data and machine learning related issues in IPSN topic areas. Submission should refer to specific data and machine learning issues related in the topic areas listed below. Topics can include but are not limited to, new system design to enable machine learning (e.g. hardware, software, algorithm, and architectures, etc.), novel machine learning algorithms for data related to IPSN topic areas (e.g. modeling, signal processing, interpretation, efficiency, evaluation, etc.), and data issues in IPSN topic area (e.g. structure, management, database, methods, tools, analysis, etc.).
Other topics in the topic areas listed below but does not specifically address IoT or DML topics should be submitted to the general track.
The entire program committee is eligible to review any submitted paper, but in order to aid in reviewer selection, authors are encouraged to indicate in the submission site whether their submissions are related to the tracks. All accepted papers will present in the main conference.
Like prior years, IPSN'18 will continue its strong focus on algorithms, theory, and systems for information processing using networks of embedded, human-in-the-loop, or social sensors, as well as new hardware and software platforms, design methods, architectures, modelling, implementation, evaluation, deployment experiences, and tools for networked embedded sensor systems and the Internet of Things.

Response Process
New this year, IPSN will elicit a review and response process. After the initial review, the technical program committee may request a short (1-page) response from select papers for clarifications
