Architectural designers Gilles Retsin and Manuel Jiménez García from UCL's Bartlett School of Architecture have been awarded the 2016 Autodesk ACADIA Emerging Research Award for their paper, 'Discrete Computational Methods for Robotic Additive Manufacturing: Combinatorial Toolpaths'.

The award recognises outstanding peer-reviewed research presented at the 2016 ACADIA conference at University of Michigan's Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning.

Both received an $8,000 award as well as an invitation to return to the 2017 ACADIA Conference at Massachusetts Institute of Technology to present further development of their research.

Retsin and Jiménez García teach on Research Cluster 4 as part of Wonderlab on The Bartlett School of Architecture’s March Architectural Design programme.
