This workshop will cover adult ADHD through the perspective of Interpersonal Neurobiology. Integrated tools and skills from different therapies will be taught to help sustain attention and create more meaning and self-acceptance.

ADHD in adults can be a confusing and overwhelming experience since attention changes from hyper focusing on high interest activities to under focusing on low interest activities. In this workshop we will explore the fascinating history and interpersonal neurobiology of Adult ADHD. An integrative skills model will be introduced to help explore ambivalence about using a planner and medication through a MI perspective, examples on how to insert high interest activities into low interest activities to improve and sustain attention, focus on how attachment styles affect attention and what to do about it. We will also learn how to tailor skills for healthy eating habits, sleep and exercise and tips on how to make reasonable changes to the environment to enhance attention. Emotional and behavioral regulation will be addressed through creative, yet practical approaches of mindfulness with CBT.
