Duties & Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The College of Education invites
applicants for the recently launched and fast growing BS program in Physical
Education. We seek a highly qualified faculty member for a new position in
Sport Management, beginning in the Fall semester
2019. The physical education program places heavy emphasis on teaching
excellence and scholarship. The candidate will be expected to maintain an
active research agenda; teach sports management courses; create linkages
between the college and the stakeholders in the market; engage in committee
service within the program, College, and University; and a strong commitment to
a sustained professional profile that contributes to the College, the
University, and the community.
Candidates will be considered for the position on the basis of the
selection criteria below. The candidate should address these criteria in the
application:
1. Ability to teach sports management courses at the undergraduate and
graduate levels in Arabic
2. An active research agenda in the area of specialization
3. Proven ability to work in a collaborative, collegial environment
4. Research interest in mega-events is a plus and emphasis on regional
sports management issues is highly desirable.
Qualifications
1. Doctorate in Sports Management/Administration with graduate course work
in Ethics, Leadership, Organizational Management, Sports Law, Sports Economics,
Sports Promotion, and a good knowledge in qualitative methodologies.
2. Minimum of 2 years teaching experience
3. Familiarity with COSMA program accreditation preferable
4. Ability to teach courses in Arabic is mandatory.

earned credential (transcript of highest degree if graduated from an

6. Personal statement explaining the applicant’s role in leadership, education,
research and experience, expressing the reasons for applying for
this position.
7. At least one recommendation and two references, including contact details
and addresses of e-mail providers stated number of these
recommendation/references.
