Responsibilities:
The Academic Assistant, reporting to the Senior Director of Enrollment Management, provides support to graduate admissions including the interaction with prospective students and their families. This position performs diversified support duties as a member of a team to assure the smooth and efficient operation of the Office of Enrollment Management.
The Academic Assistant provides general customer service for the Graduate Office, answers telephone calls, e-mails and faxes. Greets current students, prospective students and faculty who contact the Bouvé Graduate Office to obtain information about programs, classes, applications, admissions, orientations, directions to campus, etc.
Other duties will include the development, maintenance and update of the recruitment and admissions operations calendar, procedures manuals, meetings and events within the Office of Enrollment Management, and coordination of these activities between the College and the University.
The Academic Assistant will assist with the logistics of recruitment, admissions and yield events (Open Houses, On-Campus Visits, Classroom Visits, Health Science Days, Preview Days, Welcome Days, Honors Welcome Days, Phon-a-thons, Transfer Students, and others related activities) by sending out announcements, ordering food, booking rooms, coordinating materials, and marketing activities.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. At least two to three years of business, health care or academic administrative experience with the ability to work with many different personalities in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions. Candidate must have strong communication, organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills both written and verbal. Must have excellent analytical and computer skills, and experience working with MS-Office.
