The Laboratory Instructor is expected to carry out a variety of laboratory and teaching activities as well as faculty research-assistance duties. He/she will also assist in departmental outreach activities and other tasks as assigned by the department head.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Teach laboratory sessions.
2. Give pre-laboratory presentations.
3. Administer and grade laboratory quizzes.
4. Grade laboratory reports.
5. Assist students with various aspects of course work.
6. Prepare and try out experiments.
7. Monitor completion of work assignments.
8. Keep a logbook of all experiments performed.
9. Handle recording of grades and attendance.
10. Assist in orders for supplies and equipment.
11. Ensure compliance with the university’s safety regulations and respond immediately to any violations, potentially hazardous situations or dangerous behavior.
12. Support faculty with laboratory-related, research and outreach activities.
13. Substitute for other laboratory instructors as needed.
14. Proctor exams with faculty, whenever needed.
15. Perform other tasks assigned by the head of department.

Qualifications Required:
1. Master’s degree in physics, or other closely related disciplines, obtained in the last six years.
2. Minimum of two years’ experience working in physics laboratories.
3. Excellent (spoken, written and reading) communication skills in English.
4. Programing experience and acquaintance with data-acquisition software are preferred.
