Job Responsibilities:
Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer for the Salt Lake City office to provide a variety of geotechnical, civil, and mining engineering services.

The successful candidate will provide engineering support for civil engineering, environmental and earthworks projects. As part of a multi-disciplinary team you will apply your civil/geotechnical engineering capabilities to a variety of projects. This is an office and field position that will need a good analytical basis and attention to detail as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities include:
* Preparing and adhering to site-specific health and safety plans to mitigate or eliminate risks to you, Golder's clients, employees and the public.
* Field data analysis and interpretation, report writing, computer analysis and modeling. While the primary focus will be on civil mining projects, opportunities will exist to work on large geotechnical engineering projects, as well as with other Golder offices worldwide.
* Participating in engineering designs, preparation of detailed design drawings and technical specifications.
* Design and manage geotechnical and environmental investigation programs, of various size.
* Undertake a wide variety of geotechnical investigations and design that may include ground improvement programs, foundation design and stability assessments.
* Scheduling laboratory testing, analyzing the results, and report writing.
* Assignments may involve travel and periods of time away from the home office. Not more than 25% of project work is anticipated to be away.

Job Requirements:
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
* A Bachelor’s degree in civil / geotechnical engineering or similar, with a M.Sc. Degree preferred.
* Self-motivated and well organized.
* Good oral presentation and report writing skills.
* A strong “safety first” focus.
* Strong all-round academic knowledge of civil/geotechnical engineering and construction materials.
* Registration or eligibility for registration for as an Engineer-in-Training.
* A valid driver’s license is required.
