Summary:

Utah Valley University invites applications for two available positions as Assistant Coordinators for INTERMOUNTAIN PREP. Assists the Program Director in organizing the INTERMOUNTAIN PREP Sci-Tech EXPO. Responsible for recruiting science and engineering presenters from business and industry for the Sci-Tech EXPO. Act as liaisons, coordinates correspondence, and documents all written transactions. Tracks budget expenses and develops spreadsheets to account for expenses and needed supplies and materials. Assists in evaluating the program and analyzing results to report to the INTERMOUNTAIN PREP Site Directors. Assists in coordinating special events for the EXPO and develops a Bottle Rocket Competition for all sites. Assists in coordinating a video of the program and works with UVU Marketing to promote the program at large to the community. Coordinates logistics to provide material & supplies for all presenters. Sets up requested room reservations and facilities for the event. Coordinates bus transportation for students and oversee that facilities are available for use by staff and students. Other duties as assigned. The Program Director for OSP will supervise the INTERMOUNTAIN PREP Assistant Coordinators.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution plus one year of experience related to the summary of duties or any combination of education and/or experience totaling five years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Excel Spreadsheets and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skilled in preparing reports in Excel and effective PowerPoint presentations.
  • Effective communication skills in writing reports and ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to present information to the general public about the program.
  • Ability to gather information and analyze data.
  • Ability to write reports and articles describing special events.
  • Ability to coordinate resources and personnel for special events and work with students, staff, and faculty.
  • Must be able to analyze data that will be included for grants.

Pay Range:

$15.00/hr
