MedAllies has a fantastic opportunity onsite in Fishkill, NY for a Senior Accountant who is primarily responsible for reviewing monthly close and assisting in the maintenance of daily cash position, accounts receivable, accounts payable, sales tax reporting and other account analysis. The Senior Accountant will also assist in annual budget and forecast preparation as well as the annual financial audit. The Senior Accountant works under the supervision of the CFO.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reviews monthly close procedures including journal entries, bank reconciliations, employee expense reimbursements, and balance sheet and income statement account analysis.

  • Assists in the maintenance of daily cash position analysis and weekly cash flow forecast.

  • Invoices and collections for certain clients.

  • Oversees the accounts payable function and overall maintenance of general ledger accounts.

  • Assists the CFO with the preparation of annual budgets and ongoing forecasts.

  • Liaises with the external auditors and tax preparers during the year and assists with the annual audit preparation and fieldwork.

  • Facilitates the preparation of and review annual tax filings including Form 1040, state income tax filings and Form 5500.

  • Maintains strong internal control structure and develops process improvements as necessary.

  • Backs up other members of the finance department as needed.

  • Assists with contractual compliance reporting.

  • Maintains accurate records of all related financial transactions.

  • Ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures.

  • Completes special projects as requested by management.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting required with a minimum of five years’ experience in related field.

  • CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting required with a minimum of five years’ experience in related field.

  • CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounting and financial statement preparation methods and requirements (FASB, GAAP).

  • Must have excellent skills in accounting software. QuickBooks and Excel preferred. Knowledge of other accounting systems welcome.

  • Familiarity with overall company ERP systems a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills in dealing with associates, company personnel, vendors and clients

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of corporate data.

  • Must be able to think independently, communicate effectively and be a team player

  • Must be able to work effectively under tight deadlines and be able to manage multiple priorities.
