Job Description:

The Administrative Assistant II performs a variety of professional and administrative duties that facilitate the day-to-day operations of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE). Program support includes assisting students and faculty with all aspects of M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs from admission to the program, to the completion of the degree; provides advisory, referral and information services to graduate students, faculty and other administrative units across the College and the University; executes awards and assistantship assignment process; assists with program accreditation; assists with planning and coordinating various Department events; and provides general support to the Department under the direction of the MAE Department Chair. The Administrative Assistant II must also embrace the University’s core value of inclusivity, ensuring that all students and constituents of the University are served in a caring and respectful manner.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of education and administrative experience in an academic setting.

• Knowledge of University procedures and polices preferred.

• Knowledge of and proficiency with enterprise systems, as well as Adobe and MS office applications such as Word and Excel.
