Overview of Job Responsibilities

Harte Hanks is seeking a Digital Marketing Analyst to create data strategies inclusive of timely and comprehensive reporting and dashboards, with an objective to evaluate marketing and business performance, drive valuable insights, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. The successful candidate for this role will work directly with our prestigious high-tech client, ensuring that the client is 100% satisfied with the service and delivery from Harte Hanks.

Essential Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Partner with the data science team, ensuring a solid understanding of their algorithms

  • Perform analysis to extract patterns and concise, actionable insights from data, and present these findings to internal partners

  • Assemble, sort, and analyze multi-faceted data in order to make recommendations for decision making

  • Partner with journey mapping/digital experience team to understand and engage their digital capabilities

  • Optimize, test, and deploy data science models through client’s digital campaign channels for meaningful usage

  • Partner with content team on content, and with sales teams and vendors on deployment

  • Collect and organize data requirements and processes, ensuring follow up occurs

  • Work with data engineers to ensure the availability of accurate and timely data

  • Perform impact assessment and deep-dive analysis in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure data integrity, consistency, usability, and completeness

  • Write SQL for data support for business processes and ETL in Hadoop

  • Identify patterns and trends and communicate them to stakeholders.

  • Assess usability of new data sources

  • Apply statistical analysis to quantify impact of business processes.

  • Collect reporting data from multiple teams and sources, and interpret results to best demonstrate business value

  • Act as liaison between data analytics and marketing, identifying gaps, trends, and opportunities, effectively communicating to key stakeholders

  • Translate, convert and transform data files and databases from one format to another

  • Able to handle and manipulate the data to report results, analyze, and answer questions

  • Create metrics and analytics reports utilizing finalized dataset

  • Migrate to new data tables, rebuilding/establishing joins and fields required and maintenance of Tableau dashboards for specified clients

  • Keep accurate account and breakdown of SQL for specified clients, keeping business goals in mind

  • Create metrics and analytics reports utilizing finalized dataset

  • Utilize understanding of the data structure to run queries and equations to determine results

  • Present reporting data results in a consumable manner, in order to best demonstrate business value

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

Education:

Degree in Business, Engineering, Math, Statistics

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

  • Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in relevant role

  • 2+ years’ experience with databases or software engineering

  • Solid understanding of data science models and digital/marketing automation

  • Experience with Data Analytics tools is required, utilizing structured and unstructured data

  • Strong program manager who understands marketing campaigns

  • Strong statistical foundation including descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing

  • Proficient in SQL and at least one programming (or scripting) language

  • Understanding of distributed systems and architectures

  • Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Spark

  • Theoretical understanding of algorithms (big-O notation)

  • Proficient in at least one compiled language (i.e. C++, Java) and at least one major scripting language (i.e. Python, R)

  • Experience navigating *nix environments and shell scripting

  • Ability to perform statistical analysis in a script-based environment (i.e. SAS, R, Python)

  • Familiarity with regression, clustering, and other advanced analytics techniques.

  • Ability to translate, convert and transform data files and databases from one format to another

  • Adept at articulating data results

  • Experience with MS Access

  • Expert level MS Excel required, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs

  • Quick learner who operates with a sense of urgency

  • Flexible and solution-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Experience in a high-tech B2B environment a plus

  • Experience working well with a very integrated team

  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) skills
