Introduction and Background

The IFRS & Regulatory Reporting Team is responsible for the production of IFRS and Regulatory outputs for the Pensions and Savings business within Standard Life.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven qualified accountant to join the team in a role that gives exposure to the heart of financial reporting at Standard Life.

This is an exciting opportunity to put into practice the skills and knowledge you have developed during your training and experience to date, carrying out the preparation and review of a variety of financial and regulatory returns for both internal and external stakeholders.

In addition to delivering core reporting outputs to a high standard, you will also play a lead role in the continued development of the team, support planning and co-ordination activities, work side by side with the wider Finance Department, and engage with key stakeholders at all levels in the business, including Company Directors as you walk them through results.

You will strive to maximise reliability and efficiency at all times through the continuous development and improvement of the accounting and reporting processes, while demonstrating role-model behaviours and setting the benchmark for financial reporting excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review IFRS submissions to Group Finance, ensuring compliance with Group requirements.
  • Carry out analytical review of results to understand the underlying movements.
  • Prepare and review regulatory returns (e.g. FCA & PRA) for specific Standard Life companies, ensuring compliance with national and international regulations.
  • Prepare and review annual Statutory Accounts for a range of Standard Life entities, including external audit.
  • Prepare and review Management Accounts with detailed analysis for key stakeholders.
  • Use initiative to suggest, and take the lead on, the development of financial reporting processes to maximise reliability and efficiency.
  • Undertake project work to support the development of robust and effective financial reporting and investment accounting data.
  • Support co-ordination and planning activities within the team.
