A Leading Financial services business based in the City of London is looking to recruit a financial accountant. Reporting into the Financial Controller this is a varied and challenging role.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Perform month end activities, produce monthly accounts and periodic external financial reporting
- Prepare and post monthly journals, e.g. accruals, prepayments, adjustments, provisions etc., and ensure adherence with the Bank’s accounting policies, IFRSs and financial controls
- Ensure a robust audit trail is maintained
- Financial analysis and analytical review of management and financial accounts
- Support key financial controls including Purchase Order system and Balance Sheet attestations
- Perform Balance sheet reconciliations for central functions, and review and test attestation for other divisions
- Responsible for costs are allocated correctly to divisions and cost centres
- Improve controls and efficiency with regards to the cost collection and reporting
- Manage challenging and complex stakeholder relationships
- In order to be considered for this role, it is essential to have the following: -Year End Accounting experience -ACA/ACCA/qualified or equivalent (or overseas equivalent) -Extensive Financial Reporting experience -Experience in preparing Statutory Accounts under GAAP and IFRS
