Scope and Purpose:
Under the supervision of the senior sports coordinator, the sports coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of all campus sports-related programs, venues, and equipment within the framework of Student Life.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities: (not all inclusive)
1. Assists the senior sports coordinator in the development and management of sports programs and activities.
2. Liaises with and provides support for inter-collegiate athletic sports teams inclusive of coaches, participants, officials, and other support personnel.
3. Oversees and manages the inter-collegiate athletic sports programs.
4. Responsible for all sports-related resources and equipment.
5. Oversees all sport venues on campus and securing off-campus venues or facilities as needed.
6. Attends and oversees athletic and recreational activities and games.
7. Directly supervises, organizes, and evaluates student employees assisting with sports and recreational activities.
8. Oversees health and safety issues as they pertain to recreational or sports programs.
9. Tracks and assesses sport activity programs and services to monitor quality and improve services as needed.
10. Ensures compliance with university policies and procedures for both on and off-campus functions hosted by Student Life and athletic teams.
11. Assists in activities and functions related to Student Life specifically, and Student Affairs generally, including but not limited to orientation, welcome week, international week, awards night and graduation.
12. Serves on university committees as deemed fit.
13. Provides advice, appropriate counsel and support to students as needed.
14. Assists in the development of Student Affairs/Student Life publications.
15. Assists in policy development and revision when appropriate.
16. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with campus and external constituents.
17. Ability to work flexible hours with a work schedule including some evenings and weekends.
18. Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree required.
2. First aid and CPR training and/or certification.
3. Experience in related field preferred.

Skills:
1. Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills (Arabic and English).
2. Ability to multi-task, be flexible, diplomatic, and open-minded.
3. Ability to deal with a diverse student population.
4. Able to work during evenings or weekends and flexible to deal with interruptions throughout the workday.
5. Ability to receive training in first aid and CPR—if not already certified and/or trained.
6. Ability to travel if required, locally, regionally, or internationally.

Working Conditions:
1. Duties are performed within and outside the office environment.
2. Visits to sporting events and coaching sites is a requirement.
