DESCRIPTION

The Penn State Facilities Engineering Institute (psfei.psu.edu) is seeking a systems engineering specialist to manage the PSFEI Visible Emissions Training program, maintain equipment to comply with EPA Method 9, 22, 203 A, B, C test methodology, conduct visible emissions training throughout Pennsylvania, and assist with facility condition assessments as required. The successful candidate will interact with skilled labor personnel, design professionals, and facility administrators. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A solid mechanical maintenance background is strongly preferred. The position requires a basic knowledge of building systems; the ability to work independently and as a team member in a collaborative environment within a diverse workforce; the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to move around various facility types for inspection purposes; and the ability to communicate with a large group of technicians. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. Security clearances may be required for access to client sites. Applicants should submit a cover letter and resume. PSFEI has been providing facilities management and operations technical advice to Commonwealth of PA agencies since 1947. United States citizenship is required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
