The Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Kansas seeks individuals for two tenure-track faculty positions. The first position is in environmental engineering with a focus on water quality at the rank of Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor. The second position is in water resources engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor. 

The search for the environmental engineering position seeks candidates exploring new ideas in water quality in areas such as water and wastewater treatment, resource recovery, chemical and/or microbial public health aspects of premise plumbing, and microbial ecology in engineered systems. The search for the water resources engineering position seeks candidates exploring new ideas in areas such as computational fluid mechanics, river mechanics, sediment transport, and environmental dispersion. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the development of academic and research programs and to contribute to the research community. The successful candidate for the environmental engineering position must have an earned doctorate or equivalent in environmental engineering or a closely related discipline before the starting date. 

The successful candidate for the water resources engineering position must have an earned doctorate or equivalent in civil engineering or a closely related discipline before the starting date. For the environmental engineering position, candidates with outstanding qualifications will be considered at the Associate Professor and Professor ranks. Candidates for the rank of Assistant Professor must demonstrate potential to develop an externally funded research program and to design and teach high-quality undergraduate and graduate courses. Demonstrated research and academic leadership is required for the senior ranks.
