Job Purpose:

  • Provide primary design and manufacturing support of seating & cushions for existing and new product designs in the transportation segmen
  • Act as liaison between internal operations and Rogers’s marketing/external customer regarding product design and needs
  • Provide design input to division’s customer base and sales organization
  • Support new business development initiatives

Essential Functions:

  • Provide technical support to customers including program specification reviews. Evaluate customer’s part designs and provide feedback on feasibility and design optimization recommendations
  • Develop designs to meet customer’s requirements per Rogers’s fabrication methodology (includes CAD design and CNC programming). Evaluating capability limitations
  • Work with production to prototype customer’s design (including FAI) and provide costing information.
  • Provide manufacturing and engineering support to production for fabricated designs. (part drawings, work instructions, BOMS/routers) Trouble shoot manufacturing problems related to equipment, process, product design issue, waste, defect etc.
  • Maintain document control system for design information (drawings, instructions, design files, part numbers).
  • Create a robust set of systems and processes to manage overall workflow, including drawing management, change management, prototyping sampling, and cataloging.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering/ Science / Engineering Technology
  • 3D CAD experience (Solidworks and Autocad preferred)
  • Experience interfacing with external customers

Preferred Requirements:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or technical environment.
  • CNC Programming experience
  • Document Management software
  • Seat cushion design/fabrication experience
Work Environment:
  • Employees working in this facility may have exposure to fumes or airborne particles, loud equipment, large machinery, and moving parts. The associate may be frequently working in a production environment, which may require use of steel-toed shoes, in accordance with Rogers Corporation’s Shoe Policy, and safety glasses.
