Our client is an industry leading company with a diverse portfolio of polymers used in the automotive industry. We are seeking an experienced Sales professional who can manage major automotive accounts in the US and Canada. You will work from home and travel in the region to develop and support customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Add value through growth opportunities consistent with the business plan and high ethical standards.
  • Call on customers in the USA and Canada by arranging and attending in person meetings with all functional areas of the client.
  • Develop strong customer relationships with key individuals and decision makers
  • Develop and implement strategies, tactics and action steps at the customer level
  • Prepare near and medium range sales forecasts in accordance with Divisional and Corporate objectives
  • Communicate to appropriate personnel - market place pricing activities, recommendations for required pricing authorizations and subsequent customer/market place implementation
  • Provide price/risk alternatives and recommendations on existing and new business opportunities
  • Establish and administer process for assessment of sales performance as compared to plan or forecast and develop and manage corrective action
  • Ensure the development and administration of key account sales plans
  • Lead the negotiation of sales proposals, develop contracts and make recommendations to sales management and the business group
  • Maintain program to resolve customer problems and/or complaints involving products or service to meet or exceed company objectives
  • Recommend annual travel and entertainment expense forecasts and manage to approved budget
  • Ensure readiness for customer program launches by coordinating cross functional internal and external support
  • Maintain current in-depth knowledge of markets, customers, prospects and competitors
  • Maintain customer price letters, invoice pricing and monthly forecast and resolve pricing discrepancies with customers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing,
  • 5-10 years commercial experience
  • Minimum 3 years marketing management is preferred
  • Proven selling skills and a good understanding of the business dynamics, strategies, and markets
  • An ability to motivate and lead cross functional peer groups is necessary
  • Automotive experience with application and market knowledge is required
  • Travel load of up to 25% overnight travel.
