Pavlov Media is seeking a Civil Engineer experienced in telecommunications and outside plant design, permitting and pricing of construction. The position will ensure that our projects conform to the commitments Pavlov has made to municipalities, and that projects are completed within the schedule and budget assigned.
Responsibilities and Duties:- Works with city authorities to acquire permits as necessary and ensures entitlements of projects.
- Recommends design changes to clients as required and as approved by the VP Engineering.
- Plans, develops, and coordinates projects with limited supervision.
- Reviews and/or participates in preparing proposals.
- Calculates/reviews costs and time schedules for proposed work.
- Assists in assigning duties and schedules to team members.
- Checks all technical work for accuracy.
- Maintains client relationships by collaboration and problem solving.
- Keeps logs or client contacts.
- Insures QA/QC procedures are followed.
- Supervision of ArcGIS designer assigned to project/team and ensuring all responsibilities of the designer are carried out and that time is spent efficiently and effectively.
- Assist in review and processing of invoices for projects and subcontractors.
- Business development through maintaining existing client relationships and acquiring new contacts/clients through attendance at local meetings, workshops or social events.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with entitlement processes and local permitting regulations
- BSCE and EI or PE
- 5+ years of experience on various site design projects, retail, commercial, and public sector projects, with increased experience in residential layouts, planning and engineering
- Experience in fiber pathing very desirable.
- Experience with technical software including ArcGIS, AutoCad Civil 3D 2015, and Microsoft Excel is preferred.
