Job Description:

The Assistant Dean for Washington Programs directs a year-round academic center in the nation’s capital. The Washington Center hosts around 200 students annually for a combination of courses and internships with diverse organizations in the nation’s capital. The Assistant Dean teaches a 6-credit undergraduate traveling seminar twice per year, currently focused on foreign policy decision making. The Assistant Dean provides faculty supervision and mentorship for all undergraduate and graduate interns (100 internships at 60 DC-based organizations in AY 2018-19). The Assistant Dean recruits and retains faculty to teach across all levels, assesses and strengthens the curriculum, develops new programs and initiatives, creates and nurtures institutional partnerships, and promotes the Washington Programs to current and future stakeholders. This is a 12-month position.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in international affairs, public administration, or similar field required. Doctoral degree preferred.
• Higher education teaching and academic administration experience highly desired.
