The Toyota Research Institute (TRI) is an R&D enterprise designed to bridge the gap between fundamental research and product development. We are a small team developing innovative robotic solutions to mobility and manipulation for home and near home applications. Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with other engineers and research scientists to dream up, develop and prototype robotic use cases.
    • Design, build and iterate on robotics platforms to solve identified uses.
    • Scope and design new features to meet the needs of users inside and outside of TRI.
    • Implement, evaluate and extend published algorithms for sensing and control of robotic systems.
    • Work as part of a team to develop and deploy entirely new robotic solutions to users homes.
    • Occasional travel will be required.

Qualifications

    • 3+years of experience in related position.
    • M.S. or Ph.D. in Robotics, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
    • Strong hardware development skills, consider test conditions and design appropriate test fixtures in addition to DUT work.
    • Experience prototyping, bringing up, and debugging complex EE designs
    • Strong communication skills. Team player.
    • Desire to work in a fast-paced, results oriented R&D setting.
