Tasks:ABB is seeking a Project Engineering that will coordinate with the design and development groups to determine effective applications, equipment and methods to produce new products. It also includes providing consulting services to production operations.
Under limited direction, perform a variety of complex engineering assignments requiring in-depth knowledge of a specific engineering discipline plus an understanding of related disciplines to cost effectively achieve objectives. Assignments typically require the use of advanced and innovative techniques. Proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction.
You will be part of The Measurement and Analytics business unit that develops, produces, sells, delivers and services products and solutions to enable industrial and energy customers to operate more efficiently and profitably. Key product groups within the BU are: Analytical Instruments, Field Devices, Flow Measurement, Force Measurement, Instrumentation Service and Process Analytics.
Typical duties/responsibilities for engineering may include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Design, analyze, and evaluate systems, products or components, requiring a high degree of technical expertise.
-Design and develop complex models or simulations and apply advanced computer programs, analytical techniques or control strategies to effectively meet requirements and resolve problems.
-Act as principal investigator or lead a group of engineers investigating problems, developing solutions and preparing related recommendations and reports.
-Conduct economic studies and prepare or lead the preparation of specifications, proposals for contracts, licensing and safety documents, and obtain required approvals.
-Represent the group in meetings and conferences; interact with customers to resolve significant technical issues and develop related action plans.
Requirements:Basic Qualifications:-Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience.Alternatively, this position may be filled at the senior level for the successful candidate meeting this basic qualification:-Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience.Preferred Qualifications:-Masters in Engineering.-12 years Project Engineering experience.-Engineering Certification.-Experience with Autocad & Inventor 3D modeling.-Working knowledge of ASME codes B31.1, B31.3, Section VIII Div. 1 and Section I.-Familiar with pipe fabrication processes including welding & machining.-Working knowledge of SAP.-Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.Additional information:Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at ABB
