RDK’s Hadley, MA office is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support its growing business. You will work with our Group Leader to develop design concepts and work with our design staff to develop detailed design documents for laboratory and manufacturing/industrial building projects. Ideal candidates will possess a BSME with at least five (5) years of HVAC design experience (with labs/cleanrooms and/or industrial projects) and be self-motivated with the desire to grow their career with a leading MEP firm. Duties & Responsibilities: - Responsible for mechanical/HVAC system design in a project engineering role
- Development of system concepts, calculations, system sizing and selection, specifications, and technical reports
- Client and project team communications and coordination
- Services during construction
- Responsible for developing and adhering to design budgets
- Mentor junior staff
- Coordinate all disciplines
Qualifications & Requirements: - Must have at least five (5) years of applicable experience in the consulting engineering field including developing plans and specifications
- Thorough understanding of the principles of HVAC systems, ductwork, and piping design
- Prior experience with cleanrooms, laboratory, and/or industrial ventilation systems design projects
- Ability to accurately estimate and forecast design effort and coordinate with project team across disciplines
- BSME from an ABET-accredited engineering program required; EIT preferred
- Proficiency in the operation of computer systems including Outlook, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD MEP, and Revit
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with clients and staff
- Ability to multi-task and work with minimal direction
