The Graphic Designer creates graphics to meet specific commercial or promotional needs, such as product and price ads, digital and social media assets, email blasts, product packaging, POP displays, signage and other print and electronic marketing materials.
Essential Job Functions
- Brainstorming and mocking up design ideas
- Presenting ideas to clients and art director
- Choosing photos, illustrations, colors, typography and layout
- Creating illustrations, logos and other graphics for print and online publications
- Using computer software to execute designs
- Seeing every design job through from inception to completion
- Working with art directors, printers, programmers, developers or other technicians to complete the final product
- Ensuring designs are error-free before final product is printed or published
Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of design education and experience and/or a Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field with emphasis on publication design and electronic media
- Thorough knowledge of desktop publishing software, including Adobe Creative Cloud
- Knowledge of printing pre-press processes and procedures
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to be innovative in both design and process
- Good communication skills and the ability to listen actively and ask questions to clarify project goals, requirements and deadlines
- Knowledge of digital photography
