Summary:
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern you will spend your time learning about and making an impact in a specialized area within SNC. You will help to deliver superior results to our clients while working in a highly collaborative and agile environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work with Engineers and Designers to design and document SNC’s products, assembly fixtures, and test fixtures
• Translate conceptual drawings, verbal descriptions, and sketches into detailed models and drawings
• Generate Engineering Change Orders (ECO) within Configuration Management (CM) system
• Prepare supporting technical documentation and analyses for internal and external use
• Assist in preparation of Manufacturing and Test plans/procedures
• Interact with Manufacturing and Test supporting the fabrication and validation of hardware
• Job shadow in the field of study/work
• Perform administrative functions as needed

Additional Responsibilities Include:

Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC policies, procedures and compliance regulations (internal and external
  • Responsible for timely execution of all personnel related activities such as Timesheet completion

Essential Functions:

  • Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, as defined by management

You Have

  • At a minimum completed your Sophomore year in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • A GPA of 3.2 or above; 3.0 or above for working students
  • Experience with 3D design/drafting package (SolidWorks Preferred)
  • Ability to create/revise technical documents
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical stress analyses
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office products
  • The ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
  • The capability to be highly organized and detailed

Other Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States and maintain a security clearance.
