Job Summary

This position will develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for the development and manufacture of hydraulic systems and tools. This would involve ISO standards as well as customer specific requirements. Drive for improvement in key quality metrics by mentoring staff and driving root cause and corrective actions across all product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, document, and maintain process data and procedures as required ensuring manufacturing and assembly processing practices to minimize cost while maximizing quality and fitness for use.
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design projects representing quality
  • Report to management on quality issues and trends particularly with key customers
  • Manage the Quality System, including Customer Discrepancies, Non-conforming product, Internal PPAP process, and Corrective Action as required by the customer.
  • Develop control plans and PFMEA, working with design and manufacturing engineering
  • Provide guidance to production supervision and coordinate with Design Engineering to solve quality/customer problems.
  • Work under minimum supervision carrying out engineering assignments of a broad nature while exercising considerable judgment and originality.
  • Review new product designs and recommend changes which optimize the manufacturability and assembly of the product.
  • Interact with customers regarding complaints and providing prompt resolution.
  • Perform process capability studies

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing Technology or Industrial. ASQ certification. Minimum 3-5 years of quality related or design engineering experience.

Must have experience in Minitab software or other SPC software equivalent. Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance. Six Sigma practices and statistical mathematics must be exhibited.
