In building on the work of the KIP Project at the Center for Inclusive Business and Leadership forWomen (CIBL.W), the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business (OSB) at the American Universityof Beirut is inviting applications from outstanding candidates to fill the position for Data Analyst. Weare interested in receiving applications from individuals who can work independently and collaboratively.This is a full-time temporary position (5months) that will be based in Beirut with the possibility forextension.
Position Summary
Oversees and participates in the collection analysis and reporting of large-scale statistical data. Appliesstandard and advanced statistical methods and conducting analyses and preparing reports.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Data management including importing data, checking for importing errors, illogical values, duplicates,verifying presence and source of missing data, and building databases• Data documentation: build and update analysis data specifications (code book), file directories, anduser instructions for running programs or utilizing a data set
• Help develop standard operating procedures for data preparation, statistical methods, andprogramming best practices
• Help develop Statistical Analysis Plans that document the analytical methods and assumptions
• Conduct preliminary and advanced statistical analyses
• Conduct basic and advanced statistical techniques (e.g. regression models, principle componentanalysis, working with panel data), using standard modeling statistical software
• Conduct literature reviews related to projects or methodological advances in the field that wouldbenefit our analytical methods
• Assist with other duties according to the project's needs
Minimum Qualifications
• Education Required: MA or advanced degree in Statistics or related field.• Experience Required: Two years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge in one of the statistical software: STATA or MATLAB or R
