The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for purchasing, designing, and implementing large new manufacturing lines.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage capital equipment and tooling projects, relative to machining, part washing, assembly, leak detection, gauging, automation, and packaging.
  • Develop engineering estimates for engineering changes including weight, tool cost, piece price, and lead time.
  • Maintain Nemak specifications for all purchased equipment and tooling.
  • Provide product design input to designers and feasibility assessments as related to good manufacturing practices.
  • Provide plant productivity support for automation and plant engineering activities.
  • Order and process new capital equipment and tooling to standards as required to meet project timing plans.
  • Conduct manufacturing process design reviews with manufacturing, quality, and tool room in order to obtain preliminary and final feasibility sign off.

Profile Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, ideally Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing Engineering, ideally with 10 years experience
  • Understanding of die casting and machining processes
  • Understanding of quoting and estimating
  • Knowledge of automation and robotics
  • Understanding of die cast tooling and process engineering
