Position Summary

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain video database
  • Videotape all games and practices
  • Pre-scout opponents and develop and present detailed report to coaching staff
  • Prepare team highlight and teaching videos
  • Develop and maintain opponent video database and tendencies
  • Serve as video liaison with other schools (uploading game video, DVD duplication and distribution)
  • Develop and maintain NHL team concept database for analysis and teaching references
  • Develop and maintain NHL database for player reference
  • Maintain annual hockey operations calendar
  • Evaluate player performance (practice and games)
  • Coordinate ice time and practice schedule
  • Maintain and integrate team technology
  • Maintain player development database
  • Develop, maintain and evaluate recruiting video database
  • Maintain statistical database
  • Train and oversee student managers
  • Oversee student statisticians
  • Support facility tours for key groups/prospects
  • Serve as hockey camps director
  • Provide support as needed for team travel
  • Serve as liaison for visiting teams
  • Provide player evaluation videos to NHL clubs
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and five years of playing and coaching experience at the Junior and college level or higher required.

Athletic administration experience at a highly competitive collegiate level or equivalent combination of education and experience; strong work ethic.

Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with prospective student-athletes; student-athletes, staff and University personnel.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate with various constituents.

Candidate must display a commitment to responsibility for adhering to all the policies, rules and regulations of MSU, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.
