Job description
Pentair is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to oversee and maintain the general ledger of Pentair Water Pool and Spa, Inc. In this role, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of various financial related reports. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Running payroll reports and reconciling to General Ledger
- Analzysis of and foreccasting for Employee Stock Ownership Plan
- Analyzing and prepartion of year end bonus programs and payout calculations
- 401K forecasting and analysis
- Forcasting and presenting to leadership
- Develops, recommends for approval, implements, monitors, and maintains and distributes accounting plans, procedures, and policies
- Coordinates month end closing activities
- Ensures accurate and timely reporting of financial transactions to the general ledger
- Performs month-end account reconciliations with accuracy and on a timely basis
- Provides proactive analysis and support to the finance team
- Ensures that relevant internal control requirements are met and comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
- Ensures that the company meets or exceed Federal, State, and Local governmental laws, ordinances, and regulations in all areas of responsibility
- Audits own performance and recommends own objectives and standards of performance
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, plus 2 or more years of experience
- Advanced Excel capabilities
- Able to contribute as a team player in a respectful and professional environment
- Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from finance leadership
- Ability to solve practical problems and implement solutions.
- Fixed Assets and/or manfucturing experience is a plus
- Experience utilizing a large ERP (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards…)
Travel
The employee may travel periodically to other company sites for training.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently sits. The employee occasionally stands and walks. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
