Perform broader design engineering activities involving the design of vessels, equipment, systems, components, structures, etc. using internal spreadsheets and industry standard software (Compress or PV Elite).
Organize the information and assist in developing designs, specifications, and drawings.
Reviewing specifications and drawings for quality and accuracy.
Perform technical evaluations of bids and recommendation for purchase, for any equipment or vessel type.
Unassisted review of vendor/shop drawings to assure compliance with design/specifications.
Develop routine technical reports, manpower estimates, schedules, etc.
Responding to technical queries from clients in a timely fashion.
Prioritizing of schedules in an engineering matrix organization.
Collaborate well with project team members and vendors, contractors, and clients.
Should also exhibit knowledge and awareness of design codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
Strongknowledge of vessel design and proven working experience in mechanical engineering.
Ability to apply engineering principles and analysis tools to product design.
Experiencewith the use of vessel design software (i.e., Compress or PV Elite) and mathematical computing and analysis tools.
Experience in finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using ANSYS software, and AutoCAD would be beneficial however not required.
Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.
Creativity and analytical skills with the ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
