Job Description

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing Outreach Coordinator will provide critical mission support for high quality educational engagement, outreach activities and community and external relations for the CFAC presenting series & special projects. The primary duties include pitching new marketing ideas and developing a comprehensive marketing plan; collaborating with the Executive Director and Curatorial Education Programs Coordinator to create marketing materials for educational and community programs. This individual will also be responsible for coordinating and aligning with the Division of Marketing and Communication¿s overarching marketing and communications strategies and branding and style guidelines.

About the Community Folk Art Center-Community Folk Art Center, Incorporated (CFAC) was founded in 1972 by the late Herbert T. Williams, a professor in the African American Studies Department, in collaboration with other Syracuse University faculty and students, as well as local artists and Syracuse city residents.

The primary motivation and objective for the establishment of CFAC was to provide a high-quality showcase for African Diasporan artists, creating a setting for dialogue and interaction among emerging, mid-career and professional artists, in Central New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, ethnic studies, communications, or journalism and two or more years’ experience in a similar position.

• Demonstrated success in developing marketing campaigns and/or successful community engagement projects.

• Grant writing experience is desired but not required.

• Fluency in Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), WordPress, PowerPoint, social media applications (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
