The Office of Institutional Research and Analysis seeks an Assessment Manager who will provide leadership and support to each of the academic and administrative units in articulating and assessing outcomes; oversee the design, implementation, analysis and reporting of course- and program-level outcomes for degree programs and the university’s General Education Program; and work collaboratively with faculty and administrators to examine existing assessment tools and analyze data for improvement.

Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the assessment and outcomes reporting process of all AUS academic programs. Associated duties include the following:
1. Continually reviewing assessment plans to ensure best practice.
2. Providing support and guidance to academic units in the development of measurable program outcomes and in the development or selection of assessment instruments, strategies, rubrics and other direct and/or indirect instruments to measure program outcomes.
3. Liaising with the academic departments and assessment coordinators to ensure that all plans, measurements, artifacts and results of assessments are constantly shared on the AUS assessment reporting tool and to ensure adherence to deadlines for reporting.
4. Conducting workshops and other professional development on assessment topics.
5. Facilitating the preparation of annual reports for academic programs.
6. Maintaining an online assessment solution for learning outcomes data collection and reporting.

- Guide assessment of the General Education Program. Associated duties include the following:
1. Working closely with the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs and Instruction and with faculty who teach general education courses to design, measure and assess general education learning outcomes, ensuring that general education assessment meets all appropriate accreditation standards.
2. Designing assessment tools, including surveys, focus groups, rubrics, and other forms of direct and indirect assessment measures for general education assessment.
3. Following-up with the academic departments and faculty teaching general education courses to ensure that all plans, measurements, artifacts and results of assessments are constantly shared on the AUS assessment reporting tool and to ensure adherence to deadlines for reporting.
4. Preparing annual reports on general education and assessment of general education learning outcomes.

- Coordinate assessment of administrative units. Associated duties include the following:
1. Working with heads of administrative units to develop and implement appropriate assessment plans.
2. Providing support and guidance to administrative units in the development of measurable operational outcomes and in the development or selection of assessment instruments, strategies, rubrics and other direct and/or indirect instruments to measure administrative outcomes.
3. Follow-up with the administrative units to ensure that assessment plans, measurements, artifacts and results of assessments are constantly shared on the AUS assessment reporting tool and to ensure adherence to deadlines for reporting.
4. Prepare an annual report on assessment activities of administrative units.
5. Use technology and best practices to ensure efficiency of administrative units’ assessment process.

Required Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in an area focused on assessment, statistical analysis and data analysis methods.
2. Minimum of three years of direct experience in assessment within higher education.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of educational testing, curriculum development, program review and research design and methods.
4. Familiarity with accreditation as it relates to assessment of learning outcomes.
5. Experience in report writing, statistics, research design, and measurement as well as oral and graphic presentation of research findings.
6. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, an assessment solution, database software programs and data visualization software.
7. Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the ability to clearly communicate about assessment methods and results in non-technical language.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work within a diverse multicultural environment.
9. Ability to make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment inclusive of students, faculty and staff of varying social economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds.
10. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
11. Attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. A degree in education, quantitative social science or statistics.
2. Experience with a survey design platform.
3. Experience with the Banner Student Information System.
