Marketing Technology Manager

The Marketing Technology Manager is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the firm’s contact database, InterAction, as well as assisting with developing and implementing new marketing technologies that enhance communication with internal and external stakeholders. These include applications covering CRM maintenance and reporting, business development opportunities reporting, database management, web technologies and social media tools. Current third-party applications in use by the Marketing Department include InterAction, Legal Anywhere branded as VedderConnect, Vuture and others.

The Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the firm’s marketing and business development efforts through the use of these tools and provides support for the firm’s client relationship management strategy. The Manager provides leadership in the rollout of new marketing technologies. The candidate must have a working familiarity with the key components of project management for a new technology rollout.

The ideal candidate understands the importance of a CRM strategy and is continually seeking to improve processes and understand how data is utilized to better facilitate marketing and business development efforts.

This position is a member of the Marketing Department and reports to the Director of Marketing, with close working relationships to a designated Practice Development Manager and the Communications Manager. This position also engages substantially with other departments in the firm, including Technology and Training.

Responsibilities:

· Administer and maintain the firm’s CRM database, including establishing guidelines, measurements and metrics for CRM

· Manage and process data change requests and create and implement data entry and list management processes and other processes to ensure data integrity

· Build distribution lists using multiple criteria for mailings and other initiatives

· Collaborate with the firm’s IT Department on all marketing/business development-related technology needs and understand how those technology solutions are used and maintained

· Troubleshoot CRM system issues and requests and provide support to users

· Assist and collaborate on all e-marketing and direct marketing campaigns including target identification and list management, working with Practice Development Managers on development of campaigns, dissemination, metric measurement, and ROI

· Assist with website and intranet updates, social media and other media communication including posting updates, managing accounts and providing training on social media platforms such as LinkedIn

· Assist in the development of CRM training programs and best practices and act as an advocate for the firm’s CRM system and associated business processes

· Provide technical support and oversight regarding website operations, SEO and web analytics

· Undertake other data collection and research projects as required

Qualifications and Education:

· Bachelor’s degree and minimum of eight year’s experience as a data analyst or database administrator, preferably in a law firm

· Experience working with and demonstrated knowledge of CRM applications or systems required; experience with InterAction preferred

· Experience in or with a Project Management Organization (PMO) a plus.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (including Access), HTML and relational databases, and e‑mail marketing software (Tikit, Vuture, Exact Target)

· Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to clearly convey information and processes to a variety of stakeholders

· Knowledge of web analytics and social media tools and a solid understanding of marketing and business development functions

· Ability to successfully manage projects from start to finish, including troubleshooting along the way with clearly defined expectations of self and others and able to take appropriate actions to ensure obligations are met

· High-speed data entry skills and exceptional attention to detail are required, as is self‑motivation and an ability to complete projects on tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
