Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach one or more of the following courses:

o RTV 14 Media Aesthetics
o RTV 18 Introduction to Screenwriting
o RTV 20 Beginning TV Studio Production

• Instruct and assist in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methods, and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions

• Perform related duties as assigned, including timely compliance with clerical and administrative responsibilities and College, division, and department policies

Required Qualifications

A. The minimum of one of the following awarded/conferred from a regionally accredited institution:

1. Any bachelor’s degree or equivalent foreign degree AND two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment; OR

2. Any associate degree or equivalent foreign degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment; OR

3. California Community College credential authorizing service as an instructor in the appropriate discipline; OR

4. Equivalency: Completion of 27 semester units of General Education course work including both a transfer level (Freshman) composition course and Intermediate Algebra AND a license or certification in the discipline AND a minimum of six years of full-time, occupational experience that is directly related to the discipline

B. Commitment to the community college goals/objectives of providing quality programs and services for students with diverse abilities and interests; personal qualities to work effectively and sensitively in a multicultural environment; awareness and commitment to the special needs of non-traditional students; AND

C. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English

License(s) & Other Requirements

Employees may periodically be required to operate a vehicle that necessitates possession of a valid California driver’s license. Such employees must have the ability to secure and maintain a valid California driver’s license.

Conditions of Employment

Official offers of employment are made by Mt. San Antonio College Human Resources and are made contingent upon Board approval. It is also required that a final offer of employment will only be made after the candidate has successfully been fingerprinted and clearance for employment is authorized by Human Resources. Costs for fingerprinting services shall be borne by the candidate.
