Reporting to the Team Lead - JV Accounting, the Financial Accountant will be a key member of our Finance team based in Perth. The role will be responsible for managing accounting related matters pertaining to the Production Sharing Contracts (PSC), together with responsibility for Australia Business Unit - West trade and miscellaneous accounts receivables and revenues.
Key Roles And Responsibilities- Monthly internal profit oil calculations & preparation of monthly PSC revenue returns for the Autoridade Nacional do Petroleo e Minerais (ANPM)
- Monthly interest on profit oil calculation to Joint Venture partners
- Preparation of disbursements of sales proceeds and profit oil to Joint Venture partners and the ANPM
- Preparation of quarterly PSC cost returns for the ANPM
- Participant on PSC cost recovery audits
- Liaisewith Ernst & Young on Agreed Upon Procedure (AUP) report to the ANPM
- Assist the Finance Controller on ANPM related issues from the ANPM Working Group and Steering Committee
- Respond to ad-hoc queries from the ANPM & our joint venture partners, and liaise accordingly in relation to accounting issues concerning the Production Sharing Contract, Profit Oil and Revenue
- Provide input for ABU-West companies’ cash flows
- Compilation of monthly revenue report, reconciliation of sales-related customer & vendor accounts and cash analysis for the ABU- West
- Liaise with CoP Singapore representative (agent for the Bayu-Undan sellers re Condensate & LPG) in relation to sales issues and recognition of Bayu-Undan Condensate & LPG sales in SAP
- Issue and distribute invoices for LNG, Helium, local gas sales, Bayu-Undan terminal fees and miscellaneous receivables
- Preparation & monitoring of demurrage accruals and facilitate payment of the various costs of sales
- Ad-hoc pricing analyses for CoP staff (both local & Houston-based)
- Preparation of quarterly Survey of International Investment for the Australian Bureau of Statistics
- Preparation of monthly exchange gain/loss and taxes other than income taxes analysis
- Preparation of monthly trade receivables reconciliations.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:- Recognised degree in Accounting, together with CA or CPA qualification
- 5 - 8 years’ experience in Financial Accounting, with exposure to the oil and gas industry preferred
- Proficient in the use of SAP financial modules
- Proven experience in managing internal and external relations in a multicultural environment
- Good planning and organizational skills for effective multitasking
- Strong results orientation commitment.
